Co-riders enjoyed the sight of the San Marcos Outlet Mall as the riders determinedly rode on a side road on the opposite side of I 35 so as not to take any wrong turns and end up in the outlet mall.  After meeting the Chapter O riders, we enjoyed tasty, melt-in-your-mouth barbecue.  It was very nice to have plastic forks at this barbecue heaven as well as plastic spoons and knives.  They really know how to treat people nice at Southwest Barbecue!  After a lunch of eating and socializing (or socializing and eating!), the 9 bikes headed out to ride the Devil's Backbone at a leisurely pace, deciding to make another stop for hot chocolate at the Blanco Dairy Queen!  It was fun to swap stories between the two chapters of riding the same roads, eating at the same restaurants, but yet perhaps finding there were some new roads and restaurants we have yet to explore.  After the hot chocolate break, 3 bikes of Chapter O continued on with a ride and the rest of the Chapter O and the Chapter U bikes headed home.  I think everyone who attended the Super Bowl Saturday Polar Bear Ride think it would be fun to plan another joint event.  Thanks to Bert and Linda Navin, and Olin Gover for helping represent Chapter U as a friendly chapter that other chapters may want to meet, eat and ride with in the future!
