18 November Ride to The Auto Museum in Rosanky It was a beautiful day for a ride starting out about 64 degrees at 10 am and quickly warming up to a delightful 75! Four couples and one single showed up to enjoy it. We took a leisurely ride on Rt 78 and US 90 to the City Market for lunch in Luling. Woody’s son was playing in an basketball tournament so when we got to Luling, he headed back. It was nice he took the time to ride with us that far and great having him along! Lunch was superb and we got there early enough to beat the crowds. We then headed up Rt 86 across on 713 and up 304 to the Central Texas Museum of Automobile History. The museum is a must see. With over 130 cars (and a few motorcycles) on display, there is something for everyone including the co-riders! Vehicles went all the way back to 1902 and we just couldn’t decide which one to take home! Before heading inside, Kenny and Connie decided they better head back so they could make their appointment they had later in the afternoon. We sure missed them on the ride back. We did get back later than we anticipated, so I think they made a good choice. Looking at the ride map before we left, Diane Goree saw a town called Dale, her husband’s name! So on the way back we made a short detour on the return to check it out! Watch out for the hole near the Dale, Texas sign!:) Back on the road again we all got a hankering for a DQ and needed to fuel up. Lockhart was just 10 minutes away and we took care of both needs there. The rest of the way back was like going up, nice and leisurely with great scenery all around and almost no traffic. Dale & Diane peeled off to head back to Boerne at Rt 46 in Sequin. We said our goodbyes on the CB, and Jill & Brad and Olin & Martha headed on back to San Antonio. It was the perfect GWRAA adventure: great food, great ride, and great friends!
