30 May Ride to Enchanted Rock & Fredericksburg
Photos by Steve & Susan Ochs
We
were the first to arrive at the meeting place at 281 and 46. We were soon
followed by our ride leader, Mike Mills. Then Brad Severe and Gary Skorman rode
in. Brent & Sue Lyons drove in next and soon followed John & Lydia Harris for
our ride to The Enchanted Rock.

We had six bikes and 9 folks meet at the pickup point.
At 9:00 AM, Mike talked about the route we were taking and were we would be stopping for lunch. The morning was a sunny and cool day because of the cloud cover. We went up 281 and Mike had a pit stop in Johnson City. We then went some very winding roads with multiple cattle guards and low water crossings. It was an awesome road and the question of the day was "how many cattle guards and low water crossings did we go over, Mike?" We made it to the Enchanted Rock and were met with a Goldwing trike owner, Bob Peden, who just missed us pulling out at 281 & 46, and due to the heat and the cost we decided not to go in and just made a U-turn and took a break. We then left and headed into Fredericksburg for lunch at the Catfish Haven. Everyone had their fill and we ventured to a fuel stop before heading into Blanco for the traditional DQ stop. On the way back, everyone was getting hot because the sun was baring down on us, and everyone ventured off 281 toward their final destinations.

Most arrived very early to chat. Great to see John & Lydia Harris and Brent & Sue Lyon!

Taking our first break. Nice on the road pic!

| Taking a break before heading out! | Brad & new participant, Bob Peden. We missed bob by a few minutes at the pickup point so we caught up with him at Enchanted Rock! |

We actually did make it to Enchanted Rock!

Slight hill to get out of the park! Mike Mills took us down some great roads

Plenty of parking for lunch at the Catfish Haven in Fredericksburg!

Lots of variety for lunch but it seemed the 1 pound hamburger steak won the most orders!

Our traditional DQ stop!
