29 December 08 Hooky ride to Wimberley
12 folks on 8 bikes and trikes came out for the final ride of 2008! 2 of the bikes were Harley's! Former Goldwing owner David Lonning brought his friend Jim "Chili" Counsil along! The temperature was a bit brisk in the morning but warmed up to a beautiful day! The ride up was all on minor roads with lots of great views! Brad led and Ken Jordan ran drag. Our favorite restaurant, the Cypress Creek Cafe, has been sold and was not open. We did take advantage of arriving early and had plenty of parking in front! The Wimberley Cafe was open and the food and service was great!

Not quite enough room to put 3 tables together. David Lonning with his friend Jim "Chili" Counsil.
After lunch the guys gave the gals some time to shop! Dave & Chili had to get back so they left before the rest of the group. Everyone else was ready to ride some more so off we went on some more back roads up to Blanco for the required DQ Stop.

Just arrived at the Blanco DQ
The temperature had turned warm and with most of us with colder weather gear on, the ice cream was a great relief! Everyone was still ready to ride some more so we headed out again! The 22 mile ride from 102 in Blanco down to Crabapple Rd then on to Edge Falls road is a great ride! Lots of scenery, open range and of course almost no traffic! We made a final stop at 46 & 3351 to say our goodbye's. Great company, a great ride, and a great way to end the chapter rides for 2008!!

Parting company at 46 & 3351.
