26 September Ride To Zorro's Buffet
Pictures by Bob & Kay Finch, Write-up by Gary Skorman
I was a perfect morning to be riding in South Texas. At 9:00 AM the group met at the Exxon on 281 & 46. With us today were Mike Mills, Skip & Beth Surre, Steve & Susan Ochs, Jack Dowda, Bob & Kay Finch (your newest participants, from California), Brad Severe, Court & Diane van Sickler, Jim Brown, Ron & Maria DeLaughter, & little old me. I led the first group with Mike as my drag. Brad led the second group with your co-ride coordinator Skip as our super-drag. We headed up Hwy 281 to 473. The weather was outstanding. The roads were outstanding. The scenery was outstanding. But fortunately, we weren't out standing...We were riding and loving it.

Lots of folks arrived very early at the pick up point!!

Lots of great discussion and then time for the ride/safety briefing!
From 473 we turned on 3351 to head over I-10. We followed I-10 to the Huebner Road Exit. From there we turned on Bandera road to make our way to the restaurant of choice, Zorro's Buffet. As I had expected, the lights split the group up, but everyone got to Zorro's safely.

Plenty of room for all of us!!

Food was good with something for everyone!!
There was an endless supply of food waiting for us. Each of us had or choice of breakfast items or lunch items or both if you so chose. Beth Surre asked me it they had a time limit as to how long we could stay and graze at the buffet. As far as I knew you can eat to your heart's content. (And we all did). The group consensus seemed to be that the restaurant was well worth the price (which was discounted for seniors over 60). After eating we said our goodbye's and headed our separate ways. All in all another great time for the folks from Chapter U.

Everyone was hungry after the 80 minute ride to get there!

Lots of room to park as well!
