26 December 08 Ride to the Cotton Gin Restaurant

Photos by Skip Surre

7 bikes and trikes with 12 folks met to brave the warm December weather to head out to the Cotton Gin Restaurant in Fredericksburg. After lots of socializing and a route & safety briefing we managed to make it out on the road! The ride was absolutely delightful going up even with a strong wind at times!

Diane & Court VanSickler                                   Lots of socializing going on!

The 2 trikes look almost the same!!                                      Gary & Melissa Skorman Arriving.

Brad giving a briefing.                                            Just arrived at the Cotton Gin!

We arrived at the Cotton Gin fairly early and it was already filling up! Still enough room for all our bikes and trikes in one area! After taking out all our gear, we headed into the restaurant! Not sure what the folks thought with this group coming in!

Bikes & trikes all nicely lined up.                                We are about ready to mob the place!!

The only way we could sit as a group was to go upstairs so we opted to take 2 tables downstairs instead. The buffet was nice and service was great! I think everyone enjoyed it! After a long lunch, we headed down town to let the ladies do a bit of shopping!

We were at 2 tables next to each other!

managed to find a great parking spot.                           The guys waiting for the girls to shop!

The guys were not really interested in the shopping so we just watched what was going on around us and moved to the next shop when the ladies came out! You can see the excitement on our faces! John & Judy Curtis had to bug out early and head back. After a couple shops and finding what they wanted, Gary & Melissa and Skip and Beth headed back as well. The rest of us made it down to the end of the street and the back up the other side before heading back toward the bikes. That left Court & Diane, Ken & Connie and Jill and Brad for the ride back. Needing some refreshment and a pit stop, we decided to take a break in Luckenbach!

Still waiting & Court left holding the bag.                                               Moving to the next shop!!

What a great day for a ride! Temperature was at least 77 and the sun was making every effort to shine! Thanks to all who came out and Skip for taking the pictures! My camera's XD card decided to crash upon return so Skip saved the day! Hope to see "U" all out again soon!
