25 August 08 "Playing Hookie" Ride 11 folks on 8 bikes showed up at the Exxon at 281 & 46 for the morning ride! Beautiful day and great company. We took the scenic route up through Wimberly to Driftwood to catch some lunch at the Salt Lick BBQ. Bob Fairey had called while we we on the road and I gave a call back when we got to the salt Lick. He had got stuck in the construction and school zones and was running late but would join us for lunch! Bob made it before we had even ordered! Most went for the BBQ but Mike Mills and Maria Delaughter went straight for the cobbler!

Nice group shot! Maria went straight for the cobbler! After lunch we started out to the winery. Once again taking the very scenic route! Bob Had to head back as did Bert so they took off on their own. Dale stayed with us back through Wimberly then headed out to get some more work done today!. Ken & Connie decided to head back and take care of chores. That left 5 bikes and 7 folks to make it up the 3/4 mile gravel road up the hill and around the blind curve! It was hard packed so not any problem. beautiful view of the vineyards in the valley below! The had a nice area for wine tasting or just sitting around. Both in the cool inside and warm outside!

Ron & Maria dropped out first to head back to New Braunfels then Mike Mills and the last 3 bikes parted company for the rides home. Good job leading the ride today Mike!
