28 January 12 - Ride to Falls City

When we left home this morning, it was a cool 48 degrees with a 20-25 mph north wind blowing.  Arriving at YOSA, we found Sam Morris and Hilmer Merz already waiting for us (not outside, but inside).  Then another 2 wheeler drove up and we met a new rider—Larry Hammond.  We’ve met Larry before and he said that he would like to ride with us sometime, so he picked one of the coldest days of January to do so.

After Ken’s briefing, a stop for lunch was discussed and everyone decided to go to Shorty’s Restaurant just south of Falls City.  Riding back roads to Floresville, we were met by Bill and Jane Johnson in Floresville. Getting our fill of lunch, we headed across to Panna Maria and Hwy. 123, then north to Stockdale to the local Dairy Queen.  We all sat and visited for an hour or so and then left for home.

Another nice day in the life of Chapter U.
